Photographers + Videographers

As an official photographer or videographer granted access to the track and parade ring at The Curragh Racecourse, I acknowledge and agree to comply with the following Track Access and Parade Ring Protocols as set by Curragh Racecourse Management.

I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT:

• I MUST provide evidence of public liability insurance for an industry-standard minimum of €6.5 million, inclusive of an indemnity to The Curragh Racecourse.
• I will attend any mandatory race day briefings as requested by the racecourse, such as those held in advance of Classic race days.
• I understand that access to the track will not be granted without my allocated armband and/or photographer bib. Gate staff cannot be expected to identify me by face/name, and I may be denied access without these credentials.
• I understand that this applies to all accredited photographers and videographers and overrides the AIR (Association of Irish Racecourses) photo armband policy.

TRACK ACCESS DURING RACING:

• I WILL NEVER position myself on the racing surface while a race is in progress.
• I WILL NEVER lean over or crouch behind a running rail.
• I WILL ALWAYS remain visible to horses from a distance and hold my position to avoid causing them to shy.
• I WILL remain a minimum of 5 metres back from the inside running rail at all times.
• I WILL remain behind the outer running rail during the finishing stages (final 2 furlongs) of a race.
• I WILL remain at least 10 metres from the finish line in either direction.

USE OF LADDERS:

• Ladders may only be used 15 metres or more past the winning post.
• Ladders must be placed at least 5 metres back from the running rail (except in areas open to the public).
• I will remain static on the ladder until all runners have passed.

USE OF CAMERA SUPPORTS (SPIKES/MINI-TRIPODS):

• Camera supports are permitted only where the camera lens is positioned behind the line of the running rail upright.

PARADE RING:

• I will remain behind the red rope at the entrance to the winners’ enclosure until the horse has left the enclosure or unless otherwise permitted by Curragh Racecourse Management.
• Ladders and camera supports are not permitted in the parade ring.

I confirm that I have read and understood the Track and Parade Ring Access Protocols and acknowledge that failure to comply may result in my access being revoked by Curragh Racecourse Management.
