The Curragh stage the final of the August Summer Series this Saturday, with the eight race programme featuring a variety of initiatives to raise funds for Cancer Trials Ireland including the Pat Smullen Cancer Trials Ireland Charity Race supported by Ballylinch Stud.
The Paddy Power supporting Cancer Trials Ireland Cambridgeshire will be one of the feature races with twenty entries following today’s entry stage. These include Genuine Article, Glen to Glen, Bear Profit, Coeur D’Or, Big Gossey, Blues Emperor and last year’s runner up State Actor. The William Haggas trained Godwinson and Dutch Decoy trained by Charlie Johnston are the two British trained contenders.
A strong British trained contingent is likely in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes with Sand Gazelle trained by John Gosden, Skellet trained by Ralph Beckett, together with the Roger Varian trained pair of Imperial Quarter and Lady of Spain among the eighteen entries. The home trained team include Red Letter, Barnavara, Madam Celeste and Azada.
Diamond Necklace, Alibah, Queen of Hawaii and Sugar Island feature among the twelve entries in the Group 3 Newtownanner Stud Stakes.
There are seventeen entries for the Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes, including recent Curragh winners Mission Central and Ipanema Queen, together with Dawn Romance, Puerto Rico, Mushaffar, Magny Cours and Red Earth.
There are twenty five entries in the opening John Ormonde Wexford Sand Maiden, eleven in the Kildare House Hotel Nursery and thirty two entries in the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Apprentice Handicap.
The Pat Smullen Cancer Trials Ireland Charity Race, supported by Ballylinch Stud, will feature twenty one riders including former jockeys Pat Shanahan, Barry Lacy and Davy Condon.
