Los Angeles, winner of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby last year, is set to make his seasonal debut in the Coolmore Stud City of Troy Mooresbridge Stakes this Bank Holiday Monday. The Group 2 contest has attracted a total of six runners including Tattersalls Gold Cup winner White Birch and Galen, who landed the Tote.ie Alleged Stakes on April 12th. Other contenders are Sons and Loves, Trustyourinstinct and Sunchart.
The Coolmore Stud Auguste Rodin Athasi Stakes, a trial for the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas, has attracted 12 runners with And So To Bed, Bint Queen Kindly, California Dreamer, Cercene, Chantez, Easy Mover and Nancy J all holding entries in the Classic which takes place in three weeks.
8 runners will go to post in the Coolmore Stud Henry Longfellow Tetrarch Stakes, an established trial for the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas, including Currawood and Officer who hold entries in the Classic. Other notable contenders include Alakazi trained by Johnny Murtagh and Beckman trained by Ger Lyons. Amangani and Wannabe Royal are both fillies taking on the colts in this Listed contest.
The Listed Holden Plant Rentals First Flier Stakes will feature the Adrian Murray trained Power Blue, who landed the opening two-year-old race of the season in March, impressive Dundalk winner Lady Iman trained by Ger Lyons and the Jack Davison trained Stop The Nation. who recently won over the same course and distance. True Love, a daughter of No Nay Never, will represent trainer Aidan O’Brien.
There are 16 runners in the opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden, 15 in the Keadeen Hotel Fillies Handicap, 26 in the PG Duffy & Sons Citroen Apprentice Handicap, and 28 runners in the Treacy Group Supporting Newbridge Parishes Handicap, which brings the competitive eight-race programme to a close
