€5,000 stable staff bonus on offer as new initiative shines a light on the industry’s unsung heroes

Innovative UK-based betting company Kwiff is delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new grassroots flat racing series in partnership with The Curragh Racecourse, Ireland’s home of flat racing.

The initiative kicked off during Juddmonte Irish Oaks weekend in July and continues across three Saturdays in August, the 9th, 16th, and 23rd with two races on each card tailored specifically for competitive handicappers. The aim is simple: to give smaller yards and working stables the platform, visibility, and opportunity they deserve on Irish racing’s most prestigious stage.

At the heart of the series is a €5,000 stable staff bonus, awarded to the yard that accumulates the most points across the eight-race series. Points are earned with each run, and a live leaderboard will be updated throughout the month.

Jack Milner, Kwiff spokesperson, commented:
“Kwiff’s Supercharged Series, starting over Juddmonte Irish Oaks weekend and culminating at The Curragh on August 23rd, aims to reward those at the very heart of the sport. With €5,000 going to the stable staff of the winning yard, the Kwiff Supercharged Series bids to put the focus on the stable lads and lasses that do so much of the hard work to prepare these equine superstars on a daily basis.”

The opening weekend offered the perfect story to encapsulate the spirit of the series. Cuban Grey, trained by PJ McKenna, took one of the wins, having been owned, trained, driven to The Curragh from his stables in Donegal, and led up by McKenna himself. It was grassroots racing in its purest form. Leading trainers Adrian McGuinness and  Jessica Harrington also got points on the board, making for a strong start to a competitive leaderboard.

Evan Arkwright, Racing and Sponsorship Manager at The Curragh, said:
“This partnership with Kwiff is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all sectors of Irish racing, from the headline trainers to the stable staff, owners and small yards who work so hard behind the scenes. The Supercharged Series is a brilliant way to recognise that effort and give it the spotlight it deserves at The Curragh.”

The stage is set, the leaderboard is live, and the countdown to €5,000 in stable staff bonuses is officially on. The next leg of the Kwiff Supercharged Series takes place this Saturday, 9 August at The Curragh, Co. Kildare.
