30 runners will line up for the Friends of The Curragh Irish Cesarewitch including two British trained challengers with Tashkhan representing Brian Ellison and the Ed Bethell trained Minstrel Knight.
Trainer Joseph O’Brien who landed the race in 2023 with Magella Strait will be represented in Europe’s most valuable handicap by a very strong team of 7 runners including Dawn Rising, Nurburgring, and Aeronautic, while his father Aidan, who landed the race last year with The Euphrates runs London City, Queenstown and Shackleton. Trainer Willie Mullins will be represented by 5 runners including Too Bossy for Us, Plontier, Sea of Sands. Other notable contenders include Chally Chute, Happy Pharoah, Helvic Dream and Falcon Eight.
A quality field of 9 fillies will line up for the Weld Park Stakes including Black Caviar Gold, Minerva, Pivotal Attack, Smexy, Zous and Me and Alibah, while Curragh specialists Big Gossey and Art Power are two of the 11 runners in the Tote Renaissance Stakes. The Group 3 sprint also features King Cuan, My Mate Alfie, Vespertilio and the British trained Spycatcher and Crestofdistinction.
A full field of 30 runners will face the starter in the Goffs Million tomorrow Saturday. The most valuable race for two year olds in Europe has attracted a high quality line up including six British trainers representatives from trainers Simon/Ed Crisford, Richard Fahey, Ivan Furtado, Richard Hannon, Brian Ellison, Hugo Palmer and Andrew Balding.
The Aidan O’Brien trained Composing heads the home trained challenge with the Ballydoyle handler also saddling Dorset. Green Sense and Summer is Tomorrow feature as two of the five runners to represent last year’s winning trainer Joseph O’Brien, while other notable runners include Chicago Call, My Corbett Court, Stop The Nation, Take Charge Star, Brownstown and Phenomenal Filly.
The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Beresford Stakes has attracted 5 runners with a strong representation from Aidan O’Brien with Hawk Mountain and Port of Spain. The Donnacha O’Brien trained Shaihaan, Al Haarith trained by Joseph Obrien and the Ger Lyons trained Geryon also line up for the Group 2 prize.
