– New Isuzu D-Max takes centre stage for seven race days; September to November
– Four-race Isuzu Ireland Race Series to bring partnership to the track
– “This is the ideal alignment for Harris Group and a fantastic opportunity for the Isuzu brand.” Karl Haughton, Managing Director, Harris Group Ireland
Isuzu Ireland has announced a new partnership with The Curragh Racecourse which will see the brand become official vehicle and mobility partner with Ireland’s premier flat-racing venue from 1st September to end November 2026.
Isuzu Ireland’s presence in Ireland is supported by the Harris Group; importer and distributor for Isuzu vehicles in the Irish market, together with its nationwide dealer network.
At the heart of the partnership will be the new 2.2-litre Isuzu D-Max, with the latest generation of the award-winning pick-up taking centre stage across seven race days and giving racegoers the opportunity to experience the vehicle up close at one of Ireland’s most iconic sporting venues.
As part of the agreement, Isuzu Ireland will sponsor a series of four races, creating the new Isuzu Ireland Race Series, with races taking place on 26th and 27th September,15th October and 1st November. The partnership will see Isuzu D-Max pick-ups displayed in prominent positions around the racecourse – with extensive national and international exposure through live broadcasting of the sponsored races – alongside strong Isuzu Ireland branding. A total of seven race days covered by the partnership will provide racegoers with an opportunity to see the new D-Max up close on the course.
The new D-Max provides a strong fit for the partnership, combining the rugged capability expected of an Isuzu pick-up with a series of significant updates designed to enhance performance and driveability. Retaining its 1,205kg payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity, the latest D-Max is powered by a new 2.2-litre turbo diesel producing 163PS and 400Nm of torque, paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Available in single- and double-cab configurations and with a range of trim options, the latest D-Max is ideally suited to the demands of Ireland’s agricultural, construction, utility and forestry sectors.
Karl Haughton, Managing Director at Harris Group Ireland, said, “This is the ideal alignment for Harris Group and a fantastic opportunity for the Isuzu brand. The Curragh is one of Ireland’s most recognised sporting venues, attracting audiences from right across the country, and it gives us an excellent opportunity to put the latest D-Max pick-up in front of those who understand and appreciate what a capable, dependable vehicle can deliver.
“More than a sponsorship,” he said, “this is about creating a strong and visible presence over the partnership period giving people the opportunity to get up close to our vehicles. The Isuzu Ireland Race Series will also give us a distinctive platform within the racing calendar, and we’re looking forward to working with The Curragh to make the partnership a success.”
Commenting on the partnership, Evan Arkwright, Racing & Sponsorship Manager at The Curragh Racecourse, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Harris Group to The Curragh for the first time. We see this as much more than a traditional race sponsorship. It is about creating a genuine connection between their brands and our audience.
“Our racegoers are incredibly diverse, but there are particularly strong connections with rural Ireland, agriculture, business and outdoor life, making its vehicles a natural fit for The Curragh. With four sponsored races, vehicle displays, strong branding and a programme of activations, we’re looking forward to delivering a partnership that is highly visible but, more importantly, highly engaging.”
The new Isuzu D-MAX is available to order now and is supported by a comprehensive five-year / 100,000km warranty and Isuzu Ireland’s nationwide dealer network.
