The 2025 flat racing season draws to a close this Sunday. The competitive programme will feature 135 runners across all eight races.
The Comer Group International Loughbrown Stakes is the final feature race with the Group 3 contest attracting ten runners including Uxmal, Enfranchise, Island Hopping and Chally Chute (pictured).
There are sixteen runners in the valuable Guinness 0.0 Finale Stakes, most notably Ballet Slippers, Fleur De Chine, Navy Waters, Galileo Dame and Sharanga.
The competitive Finlay Volvo Mile has attracted twenty three runners with leading contenders including Coeur D’Or, Orandi, State Actor, Genuine Article and Dark Viper.
Fifteen runners will face the starter in the 1xBet Supports Irish Racing Handicap, six runners in the WTW Willis Race, twenty one in the Final Furlong Podcast with 1xBet Handicap and twenty two year olds in the opening Irish Stallion Farms Farm, while there are twenty four runners in the 1xBet Safer Gambling Maiden, while will bring the flat season to a close.
It is hoped that newly crowned champion jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle will return from the Breeders Cup to be presented with his trophy, while the Champion Apprentice title is still too close to call with the winner likely to be decided on the final day with Wayne Hassett, Wesley Joyce, Jack Cleary and Robert Whearty are all in contention. Aidan O’Brien is again champion trainer, while Mrs Sue Magnier is leading owner.
The Curragh will also present their leading Training and Riding Performances of the Year Awards to Jack Cleary for his ride on Dorset in the Goffs Million and to trainer Michael Grassick to acknowledge the multiple successes of Gazelle D’Or.
