ALPHA CENTAURI  DEBUTANTE STAKES (GROUP 2)

The Debutante is the fillies equivalent of the Futurity Stakes and it has held Group 2 status since 2004. Since its distance was changed from six to seven furlongs 25 years ago it has had spells at Leopardstown and the Curragh and it has been staged at the Curragh every year since 2010. It is the key trial for September’s Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes while eleven of the last 20 winners have gone on to win at Group 1 level.

COOLMORE GALILEO IRISH EBF FUTURITY STAKES (GROUP 2)

The Futurity is one of Ireland’s premier two-year-old colt’s races. It has held Group 2 status for the last 18 years and has been run over its current trip of seven furlongs since 1997. It is Ireland’s premier prep race for the Group 1 National Stakes which takes place over the same course and distance the following month and eleven of the last 20 Futurity winners have gone on to win at least once at Group 1 level including 2002 winner Mac Swiney.
