Ken grew up in Ballyhea, Co Cork, a small parish of 1000 people. His racing experience was gained across the globe with short stints at Coolmore, Haras de Fresnay Le Buffard in Normandy, Lanes End Farm in Kentucky, Neil Howard in Keeneland and finally 5 ½ years with John Oxx at Currabeg.

He took out his trainers licence in 2002 and won the Irish 2000 Guineas in 2018 with Romanised.

2018 was also the year that he and his wife Pauline purchased the historic Osborne Lodge on the Northern edge of The Curragh.

It has been lucky to its previous incumbents since James Dunne built it in 1897 with a roll call of 18 Irish classic winners including 3 Derby winners namely Flax Park in 1905, Wild Bouquet in 1908 and Zarathustra in 1954, not to mention latterly through the highly successful tenure of the Hughes Family where big winners were common and includes Champion Hurdle and Grand National winners.

Ken and Pauline hope to continue the classic legacy here and write their own chapter in a rich and successful history.
