Owners, Trainers and Stable Staff
We continue to comply with both governmental and industry regulations in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and maintain a range of measures across our operations to best protect all our patrons.
The on-course experience for all stakeholders has changed, significantly so in some areas of our business, however we endeavour to ensure we deliver the best experience possible.
Self-isolations restrictions is now arrive with a negative PCR and self-isolate for 5 day and on day 5 get retested then on production of another negative test (results take 24-48 hours) they will be able to attend.

A member of The Curragh Racecourse team will be on hand to welcome owners back to the track and will answer any questions you may have.
Face Masks must be worn at all times while on the racecourse unless eating or drinking. Please make sure you bring a mask with you. You MUST be seated to consume alcoholic drinks. We advise having a second mask with you as a precaution.
With attendance at 500 per race meeting, the area around the parade ring and race course will be open to all members of the public. On test events where there is a larger attendance, this may change to seperate industry and general public.
One owner per horse will be allowed into the parade ring before each race and winning owners will be able to go back in after each race.
Food and Beverages
All owners will be provided with one complementary food voucher per person. Vouchers may be redeemed for a choice of hot dishes and a dessert on a walk-through service from Orby’s close to the main entrance.
Tea and coffee will be complimentary as well. Under Covid -19 regulations all food and beverages must be consumed while seated outside.
Unfortunately, due to the challenges presented by the table service procedure, alcoholic drinks menus will be limited to wine, prosecco, champagne, and bottled beer. Table service may cause delays and we ask for your patience and understanding of this mandatory rule. Beverages will be served from the Queens Room beside Orby’s.
There will be bathroom facilities available in Orby’s as well as additional toilets located around the parade ring.
Accessible toilets are also available around the racecourse.

Situated in Main Carpark which is within close proximity of the entrance and screening area.
Overseas based runners
We very much welcome to the prospect of having overseas trained runners compete during our 2021 season.
Due to the ongoing Covid 19 crisis, the current Irish Government’s protocols state that all people including trainers and their staff visiting Ireland must come in on a negative test and self restrict. They would need to get a test on day 5 if fully vaccinated and if not fully vaccinated test on day 10 also before being allowed to move freely
The best option in the current circumstances is to send your horse to Ireland to be looked after by an Irish based trainer based at the Curragh. We have a list of a number of trainers who are willing to accommodate overseas trained horses. The Curragh will cover all relevant costs. Please contact Ciara Doyle or Evan Arkwright for details.
If you require a stable for a companion horse, please let us know as soon as possible as stables are allocated at time of declarations. If available we will facilitate this.
All members of stable staff attending the races must register to attend with the races by logging onto http://www.ihrb.ie/health-screening and following instructions.
All races offer a prize awarded to the groom who looks after the horse judged to be best turned out. In many races, the grooms in charge of the winning horse will also receive a prize.
The Curragh and TRM also provide additional prizes to the winning groom of the Best Turned Out prize for every race at the Curragh and each winner will receive free entry into an end of season draw.
Our Stable Staff canteen is closed due to current Covid 10 protocols, but all stable staff are entitled to a complimentary lunch bag generously sponsored by Moyglare Stud
