Owners, Trainers and Stable Staff

Please see all information with respect to the race day to ensure you avail of all the privileges for owners with a declared runner.

  •          Upon arrival Association of Irish Racecourses (AIR) card holders, including all sole owners, syndicate and club members as well as owner’s guests should go to the AIR desk with their AIR card to gain entry to the racecourse and receive their Owners and Trainers swing badge and complimentary racecard. The desk is located at to the right of the turnstiles at the main entrance building.
  •          Owners may order guest badges as per the AIR allocation. Guest badges should be ordered by 12 noon the day before racing through the HRI ownership website, to ensure guests are including on the owners guest list. 
  •          Complimentary dining of 4 meals per ownerships to include main course, desert and tea/coffee, is available courtesy of The Curragh in the Tattersalls Owners & Trainers Restaurant, located on Level 3 of the grandstand for 35 minutes sittings. Please use your Owners and Trainers swing badge to access Level 3. A trainer with a runner can also dine with one guest
  •          The Tattersalls Owners & Trainers Lounge is located on Level 3 of the grandstand featuring a bar, seating area and outdoor terrace. All owners have access using their Owners and Trainers Swing Badge and will have access to the Level 3 viewing balcony to watch racing

Planning your Day

 

Car Parking

Owners with a runner on the day are entitled to complimentary car parking in Area A (blue car park) adjacent to the main entrance by showing the dated car park label to the parking attendant as per attached.  Parking is limited and is on a first come first served basis. Our team of parking attendants will guide owner guests, syndicate and club members to additional parking Area B/D (Yellow car park) nearby if it is required.

 

Arrival and Tickets

Upon arrival at the racecourse, all owners should present their AIR cards (admission card issued by the Association of Irish Racecourses at the AIR desk to receive their relevant owners and trainers swing badges and complimentary racecard).  Owners guests and syndicates and club members should give their names at the AIR desk to gain entry to the racecourse.

 

Tattersalls Owners and Trainers Restaurant and Lounge

This facility is located on Level 3 of the grandstand with access is permitted with an owners and trainers swing badge received at AIR desk at entrance.

 

Owners & Trainers Grandstand Seating
Reserved seating is available for owners and trainers located on the upper tier of the grandstand closest to the parade ring which is are clearly sign posted.

 

Winning Connections
Following each race,  winning owners will be accompanied by a member of the Curragh team for a complimentary glass of bubbly and to watch a replay of the race. All winning owners will be sent a  souvenir photo courtesy of The Curragh via post.

STABLE STAFF

All races offer a prize awarded to the groom who looks after the horse judged to be best turned out.  In many races, the grooms in charge of the winning horse will also receive a prize.

The Curragh also provide additional prizes to the winning groom of the Best Turned Out prize for every race at the Curragh and each winner will receive free entry into an end of season draw.

The Curragh Stable Staff Canteen is generously sponsored by Moyglare Stud. Stable staff receive a compliementary hot meal and drink when they bring a horse racing to the Curragh.

For all Group 1 races grooms names are printed in the racecard.

Sponsors regularly gift of merchandise to the grooms of their races. This is frequently in the form of hats, jackets or gilets.

 

CURRAGH STABLE YARD

There are 135 stables available on race days and are allocated on race mornings. There is a choice of paper or shavings bedding (straw is no longer available). Please contact Ciara Doyle +35345441205 or email [email protected] 

For overseas based runners, should you require a stable for a companion horse, please let us know as soon as possible as stables are allocated at time of declaration. If available we will facilitate this.
