William Hill Emerald Mile set to feature on Day 1 of the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Haziya heads the market at 5/1 for the inaugural running of the William Hill Emerald Mile at the Curragh on Friday (6pm), the feature race on day 1 of the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival. Last seen winning by three lengths at Leopardstown in April, on his first start for the yard, early market signs suggest that the four-year-old is the one to beat. Other notable contenders include Mutassaref trained by Ger Lyons, Fastnet Crown trained by Michael O’Callaghan, while trainer Adrian McGuinness has six possible runners including Current Option, Saltonstall and Sirjack Thomas
The Group 3 Heider Family Stables Gallinule Stakes has attracted 17 entries with the winning horse receiving a free entry into the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. Atomic Jones, Boundless Ocean, Duke de Sessa, Seisai, Sussex, Fizzical and Swan Bay are among the contenders.
