The Curragh stage competitive programme this Saturday in aid of Cancer Trials Ireland

The Curragh stage the Pat Smullen Race Day in aid of Cancer Trials Ireland this Saturday featuring a packed programme of eight races.

There are forty entries in the €100,000 Paddy Power Supporting Cancer Trials Irish Cambridgeshire. These include top weight Casanova trained by Adrian McGuinness, in addition, his stable companions Saltonstall, Spanish Tenor, Sirjack Thomas and Pierre Lapin also feature amongst the entries. Trainer Jessica Harrington, who landed the valuable contest with Bopedro last year, is set to have a strong team with entries including Jungle Cove, Cowboy Justice and Dairerin. Other notable contenders include Magic Chegaga, Federal, Sir Antonino and Inchturf.

The Paddy Twomey trained Limiti Di Greccio (Pictured Above) is among the nineteen entries in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes, together with Sh Boom and Juncture trained by Ger Lyons , while Joseph O’Brien has eight entries including Illuminazione and Goodie Two Shoes and his father Aidan  has four entries including Prettiest and Lullaby.

There are fifteen entries in the Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes with the Group 3 contest attracting recent York winner Treasure Trove, in addition to her stable company Shelton. Daamberdiplomat a winner at the Curragh last Saturday for trainer Johnny Murtagh and the Ger Lyons trained Apricot Trist also feature, while Aidan O’Brien has five entries including Dower House and Cairo.

Caroline Street, Ma Belle Artiste, Amazing Show and Shelton are among the thirteen fillies entered in the Group 3 Newtownanner Stud Stakes.

There are 12 entries in the Killashee Handicap, 14 in the DMG Media Nursery, 37 in the Bord Na Mona Recycling Apprentice Handicap and 20 in the opening Manguard Plus EBF Maiden.

In addition to racing, there will be meet and greet zone for racing fans to meet a number of world famous jockeys with the opportunity to donate to Cancer Trials Ireland, in addition there will be free children’s entertainment, live music, and a delicious BBQ ensuring a great day out for all the family.

The Curragh will contribute proceeds from admission tickets to Cancer Trials Ireland
