Strong British trained entries for Curragh Group races
Glen Shiel, who landed the Group 1 British Champions Sprint and Rathasker Stud Phoenix Sprint last year for trainer Archie Watson, is one of twenty five entries for the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes. Haydock Sprint Cup winner Dream of Dreams trained by Sir Michael Stoute is another Group 1 winner to feature in the entries which were published yesterday for the Group 2 contest which takes place at The Curragh on Saturday 22nd May, as part of the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival.
The Richard Fahy trained Ventura Rebel, who landed the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes last year and Art Power who won the Group 3 Lacken Stakes at Naas, are other notable British trained entries, in addition to recent winners Royal Commando, Summerghand and three time winner Starman trained by Ed Walker.
Home trained entries include leading sprinters Lope Y Fernandez, Make A Challenge and the Paddy Twomey trained Sonaiyla, who finished third in the Group 1 Derrinstown Stud Flying Five last year and now carries the ownership of Moyglare Stud.
Multiple Group 1 and Classic winner Love is among the twenty eight entries in the Lanwades Stud Stakes which also features Group 1 winners Alpine Star and Champers Elysees, while British trained entries include Lavender’s Blue, Maamora, Parent’s Prayer and With Thanks. The Group 2 contest also takes place on Saturday 22nd May.
