2019 Comer Group International Irish St Leger winner Search for a Song is one of 10 runners in the Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial taking place at The Curragh this Friday, 14th August, following this morning’s publication of declared runners. Trainer Dermot Weld will also be represented by Maria Christina.
Recent Comer Group International Curragh Cup runner up Master of Reality is included in the line up for Joseph O’Brien, while his father Aidan has 2 runners with Delphi, a three times winner this year and Monument Valley hoping to give him his 7th successive win in the Group 3 contest.
The Willie Mullins trained Micro Manage and Sea The Lion trained by Jarlath Fahy are other notable contenders, while Aircraft Carrier, Broad Street and Giuseppe Garibaldi will represent sponsor Luke Comer.
Leo De Fury, Armory and Sinawann are among the 7 runners in the Group 3 The Irish Field celebrating 150 years Royal Whip Stakes.
The Ger Lyons trained Frenetic is one of 9 runners in the Holden Plant Rental Curragh Stakes. The Listed contest over 5 furlongs has also attracted Eastern Voice, Chief Little Hawk and Hyde Park Barracks.
Talacre trained by Ger Lyons, runner up on her only two starts will face 7 rivals in the Loder IEBF Race, while the Joseph O’Brien trained Ubuntu and Shandra trained by Dermot Weld are interesting newcomers in the race over 7 furlongs.
Full fields of 18 will contest the opening Irish European Breeders Fund Maiden and also the Derek O’Sullivan Memorial Apprentice Handicap and TRM Kurasyn Handicap, while a competitive field of 16 will line up in the Big Picture Communications Maiden
