Keeneland Phoenix Stakes Entries Include First 3 from GAIN Railway Stakes

The Keeneland Phoenix Stakes is Saturday's feature at the Curragh and final entries revealed a mouth-watering list of top class junveniles. A strong British challenge for this Group 1 race includes Coventry Stakes (Gr.2) winner, Bradsell trained by Archie Watson and the Richard Hannon trained Persian Force, recent winner of the July Stakes (Gr.2) at Newmarket. 

Aidan O’Brien has five entries including stakes winners, Blackbeard (Prix Robert Papin Gr.2 and the highest rated entry), Little Brown Bear (Jebel Ali Racecourse & Stables Anglesey Stakes Gr.3), Meditate (Albany Stakes, Gr,3), and Never Ending Story (Sliver Flash Stakes, Gr.3).

GAIN Railway Stakes (Gr.2) winner Shartash represents strong Irish form for trainer Johnny Murtagh and the Aga Khan Studs, while the Joseph O’Brien trained Voce Del Palio remains among the entries following a valuable win in the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes at Naas on Monday.

Group 1 winner A Case of You is one of 22 entries for the Rathasker Stud Phoenix Sprint. The Group 3 has also attracted a strong British trained team including regular visitor Glen Shiel, Go Bears Go and Dubawi Legend.  Other notable contenders including Moss Tucker, Power Under Me, Romantic Proposal, Castle Star, Ano Syra, Scared Bridge, Erosandpsyche and New York City.

There are 16 entries for the Sheehy Motors Volkswagen Handicap, 26 entries for the Donohue Marquees Handicap, 17 in  the Loder EBF Race, 28 entries in the John Ormonde Gallop and Arena Construction EBF Maiden, 14 in the AK Bets Higher Limits Better Prices Handicap and 32 entries in the opening John Ormonde Wexford Sand EBF Maiden.
