Multiple Group 1 and Classic winner Love is set to make her seasonal debut at the Curragh this Bank Holiday Monday in the Coolmore Stud Sottsass Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes. The Aidan O’Brien trained performer is one of eleven runners in the Group 2 contest. The race has also attracted last year’s Melbourne Cup hero Twilight Payment trained by Joseph O’Brien, together with Broome, recent winner of the Holden Plant Rental Alleged Stakes and Japan, winner of the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes last year.
Champers Elysees is one of twenty-one entries in the Coolmore Stud Circus Maximus Irish EBF Athasi Stakes. The Johnny Murtagh trained mare landed the Group 1 Matron Stakes last year. Last year’s Weld Park Stakes winner Elysium, together with Valeria Messalina, My Generation, Queen’s Speech and Sense of Style are other leading contenders for the Group 3 contest, while the Archie Watson trained Parent’s Prayer is the sole British trained entry.
The Irish EBF Tetrarch Stakes has attracted twenty-one entries including Ace Aussie, Storm Legend, Snapraeterea, Admiral Nelson, Military Style, Notre Belle Bete and Federal, an impressive winner of a Maiden last year on his only start for trainer Joseph O’Brien. The Listed race will commemorate the memory of Dick McCormick who was closely associated with legendary The Tetrarch.
The GAIN First Flier Stakes has attracted sixteen entries including recent winners Elliptic trained by Donnacha O’Brien, Lord Gorgeous trained by Johnny Murtagh, It’ll Do My Day trained by Michael Mulvany, Cheerupsleepyjean trained by Fozzy Stack and Cadamosto, who is one of four entries trained by Aidan O’Brien.
Both the AES sponsored Apprentice Handicap and Sentinel Ireland Handicap will be ultra competitive with a significant number of entries in both races.
