12 fillies remain in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks taking place at the Curragh this Saturday 18th July, following today’s entries and final forfeit stage. Final declared runners will be published on Wednesday at 10am.
Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas winner Peaceful, Prix De Diane (French Oaks) heroine Fancy Blue and Epsom Oaks runner up Ennistymon, together with recent Alwasmiyah Pretty Polly Stakes runner up Cayenne Pepper, New York Girl, Snow, Lemista and Even So feature among the fillies entered in the Classic.
There is top class support programme to the Group 1 Classic. 15 entries remain in the GAIN Railway Stakes with Merchants Quay, Military Style, Admiral Nelson, Law of Indices, Lucky Vega, To Glory, State of Rest among the contenders.
2019 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby winner Sovereign is among the 14 entries for the Comer Group International Curragh Group. Master of Reality, Twilight Payment, Amhran Na Bhfiann, Dawn Patrol and the Luke Comer trained pair of Cypress Creek and Giuseppe Garibaldi are also entered in the Group 2 contest.
Classic and Group 1 winner Romanised is one of 16 entries in the Paddy Power Minstrel Stakes with Vatican City, Arizona and Royal Dornoch other notable contenders for the Group 2 contest.
The Kildare Village Ladies Derby and Paddy Power Scurry are other competitive races taking place as part of the 8 race programme which starts at 4.15pm.
The Curragh also hosts an eight race programme on Day 2 of Juddmonte Irish Oaks Weekend on Sunday. The Simon Crisford trained A’Ali and top sprinter Make A Challenge trained by Denis Hogan are both supplementary entries today at a cost of €8,000 for the Group 2 Holden Plant Rental Sapphire Stakes. Hit The Bid and Speak in Colours are other contenders who feature among the 10 entries.
New York Girl, Ridenza, Lemista, Fleeting and the William Haggas trained Miss O Connor feature among the 15 entries for the prestigious Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes
Juddmonte Irish Oaks Weekend takes place at The Curragh over two days 18th and 19th July and will be run behind closed doors due to Irish government protocols.

The Curragh has again organised a variety of initiatives to celebrate Juddmonte Irish Oaks Weekend, following a successful campaign over Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Weekend to encourage people to have get togethers at home to watch the races and a virtual style competition which attracted huge entries

The Curragh Racecourse invites you to register for a preview webinar of the Juddmonte Irish Oaks Weekend on Thursday evening at 7.30pm. Pat Keogh, Chief Executive of the Curragh Racecourse will be joined by special guests Lord Grimthorpe, racing manager to Prince Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms, Paul Smith, from the Coolmore partners and Jessica Harrington, Classic and multiple Group 1 winning trainer. As well as looking ahead to the Juddmonte Irish Oaks weekend the preview will cover broader subjects, including Juddmonte Farms involvement in Irish racing and breeding, a review of the highlights of the season to date and plans for Jessica Harrington’s stable stars.
