Four supplementary entries for the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes

Steel Bull recent winner of the Molecomb Stakes trained on The Curragh by Michael O’Callaghan, the Aidan O’Brien trained Giorgio Vasari, a winner in Naas yesterday, Airlie Stud Stakes winner Aloha Star trained by Fozzie Stack and Ventura Tormenta winner of the Prix Robert Papin trained in Britain by Richard Hannon  have been added to the entries for the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at a supplementary entry cost of €20,000 each this morning.   A total of 15 horses feature in the race following today’s entry stage. 

The Group 1 contest promises to be one of the most competitive renewals of the race for many years. Other notable entries include The Lir Jet trained in Britain by Michael Bell and winner of the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, together with GAIN Railway Stakes winner and runner up Law of Indices and Lucky Vega.

The Fozzie Stack trained Bubbles On Ice, the Ger Lyons trained pair of Frenetic and To Glory, State of Rest trained by Joseph O’Brien and the Aidan O’Brien trained Admiral Nelson, St Mark’s Basilica, Swiss Ace and Mother Earth are also included in the line up.

The Jessica Harrington trained Group 1 winner Millisle is one of 17 entries in the Group 3 Rathasker Stud Phoenix Sprint. Other notable contenders include Paddy Power Scurry winner Romanic Proposal trained by Edward Lynam who is set to renew rivalry with runner up Gulliver, together with multiple Group race winner Speak in Colours, the Paddy Twomey trained Sonaiyla and Paddy Power Rockingham Handicap runner up Jungle Jane. Recent Stewards Cup winner Summerghand trained by David O’Meara and Glen Shiel trained by Archie Watson also feature in the potentially strong British trained team.
