Broome and Twilight Payment to line up in Curragh feature this Monday
Champers Elysees set to make her seasonal debut
Broome will attempt to give trainer Aidan O’Brien his 13th success in the Coolmore Stud Sottsass Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes taking place at The Curragh this Bank Holiday Monday . The Aidan O’Brien trained performer is one of six runners following this morning's final declaration of runners.
The Group 2 contest has also attracted last year’s Melbourne Cup hero Twilight Payment trained by Joseph O’Brien, together with Ancient Spirit, Helvic Dream, Saltonstall and Up Helly Aa.
Champers Elysees is one of nine runners in the Coolmore Stud Circus Maximus Irish EBF Athasi Stakes. The Johnny Murtagh trained mare landed the Group 1 Matron Stakes last year. Valeria Messalina, No Speak Alexander, Soul Search and Queen’s Speech are other leading contenders for the Group 3 contest.
The Irish EBF Tetrarch Stakes has attracted a quality field of eleven runners including Ace Aussie, Storm Legend, Cosmic Vega, Horoscope, Hype, Notre Belle Bete, Merchants Quay and Federal, an impressive winner of a Maiden last year on his only start for trainer Joseph O’Brien. The Listed race will commemorate the memory of Dick McCormick, who was closely associated with legendary The Tetrarch.
The Listed GAIN First Flier Stakes has attracted nine two year olds, including recent winners Elliptic trained by Donnacha O’Brien, Lord Gorgeous trained by Johnny Murtagh, It’ll Do My Day trained by Michael Mulvany, Cheerupsleepyjean trained by Fozzy Stack and Cadamosto, who looked like a potential superstar when landing his first career start at Dundalk recently.
The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden and Irish Stallion Farms Handicap have both attracted twelve runners.
Twenty Five runners will line up for the AES Bord Na Mona Apprentice Handicap, while a maximum field of thirty will face the starter in the ultra competitive Sentinel Ireland Handicap.
