Arizona, Siskin and A’Ali set for Keeneland Phoenix Stakes challenge this Friday

16 two year olds remain in the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes, following entries which closed at 12 noon today. The Group 1 contest is the feature of the seven race programme at the Curragh this Friday evening.

Coventry Stakes winner Arizona is one of ten entries for Aidan O’Brien who has won the race an unprecedented sixteen times. He also has Monarch Of Egypt and Royal Lytham entered in the 300,000 euro contest.

Siskin, winner of GAIN Railway Stakes will attempt to give trainer Ger Lyons his first Group 1 winner in Ireland, while the recent Prix Robert Papin and Norfolk Stakes winner A’Ali is the sole British trained contender for Newmarket based Simon Crisford and will attempt to follow the success of 2018 winner Advertise who was the first British trained winner of the race since 1997

Arranmore trained by Jim Bolger and Air Force Jet trained by Joseph O’Brien are other notable entries.

Southern Horse, Beckford, Sevalan and Shades of Blue are among the 11 entries in the Group 3 Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Phoenix Sprint
