A maximum field of 30 runners will line up in the Paddy Power Irish Cesarewitch this Sunday, 10th October

A maximum field of 30 runners will line up in the Paddy Power Irish Cesarewitch following this morning’s final declaration of runners for the race which takes place at The Curragh this Sunday, 10th October.

Trainer Willie Mullins has a strong team to represent him including Royal Illusion, winner of the race in 2019, together with My Sister Sarah, Exchange Rate and N’Golo
Other notable contenders include Dalton Highway, Dinard Rose, Shoshone Warrior, Azallya, Turnpike Trip and Aircraft Carrier.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: “It’s great to have a maximum field of 30 runners and favourite Turnpike Trip will have to bring his ‘A game’, but Charles Byrnes’s charge might just do that after justifying favouritism in some style when conducting an overseas raid in Newmarket’s Cesarewitch Trial.”

11 fillies will face the starter in the Staffordstown Stud Stakes featuring Angels Wrath, Sunset Shiraz, Tranquil Lady, Viareggio and Willesee, while the Jessica Harrington trained Alizarine will carry the colours of sponsor Kirsten Rausing.

There are 15 runners in the Hatstone Solicitors Waterford Testimonial Stakes with the valuable Listed race attracting Strong Johnson, Power Under Me, Riot, A Ma Chere and More Beautiful.
The final in the Bord Na Mona Recycling Future Stars series has attracted 19 runners. Robert Whearty, who currently leads the series on 18 points, will ride the Eddie and Patrick Harty trained Coins Cross, with Jamie Powell on 13 points riding Takeachancejimmy followed by Luke McAteer (Premium Ticket), Dean Curran (Pretty Rebel) and Neve Bennett (Apricot Rose) on 10 points.  The winner of the overall series will be presented with a €300 TRI Equestrian voucher by Bord Na Mona Recycling
There are 24 runners in the Sentinel Ireland Handicap, 13  in the Duralock Racecourse Fencing Handicap and 9 in the opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden

A race organised by the Pony Racing Association will take place following the 7th race with 8 riders taking part.
