Emily Upjohn, the mount of Frankie Dettori, is one of eight fillies who will line up in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks taking place at the Curragh this Saturday. Runner up in the Epsom Oaks, she will attempt to give trainer John Gosden his fourth winner in the race, having won with Star Catcher, Enable and Great Heavens.
Ribblesdale Stakes winner Magical Lagoon and Fennela will represent trainer Jessica Harrington, while Aidan O’Brien will have a team of three fillies, Emily Dickinson, Toy and History. Cairde Go Deo trained by Ger Lyons and Show of Stars trained by Paddy Twomey also feature in the Group 1 Classic.
Mooneista will attempt to win the Barberstown Castle Sapphire Stakes for a second successive year and the Jack Davison trained performer will face seven rivals including the British trained Equilateral and Last Crusader. Castle Star, Cadamosto, New York City, Brostaigh, Geocentric and Ladies Church also feature among the runners for the Group 2 sprint.
Little Big Bear, Slan Abhaile, Voce Del Palio and Kodi Noir are amongst the seven runners in the Group 3 Jebel Ali Racecourse and Stables Anglesey Stakes, while there are 17 runners in the Kildare Village Ladies Derby including Kazakdaria who will be ridden by Rachael Blackmore and 17 runners in the valuable Paddy Power Scurry including Gustavus Weston, Urban Beat, Laugh A Minute and Mr Wagyu trained in Britain by John Quinn.
12 two-year-olds will line up in the opening Juddmonte “Expert Eye” Maiden, while there are 10 runners in the DMG Media Nursery and 16 in the TaxAssist Accountants Kildare South Maiden
