6 runners set for Tattersalls Gold Cup this Sunday

Six runners will face the starter in the Tattersalls Gold Cup taking place at The Curragh this Sunday 26th July following declaration of runners this morning.

Last year’s winner Magical heads the high quality field and will aim to give trainer Aidan O’Brien his ninth victory in the Group 1 contest. Sir Dragonet and Armory will also represent him.

Leo De Fury, winner of the Coolmore Magna Grecia Mooresbridge Stakes at The Curragh last month will represent trainer Jessica Harrington, while 2019 Comer Group international Irish St Leger winner Search For A Song trained by Dermot Weld and the Joseph O’Brien trained Buckhurst, winner of the Dubai Duty Free Alleged Stakes last month complete the field.

The competitive eight race programme, which starts at 1.45pm, also features the Mongey Communications Handicap with 15 runners, Manguard Plus Apprentice Handicap with a full field of 18 runners and valuable Into Kildare “We care in Kildare” Handicap with 11 contenders.

Track: racing on far track in the straight. Stalls in centre for all sprints.
