The Paddy Power Irish Cesarewitch will be one of the feature races at The Curragh this Sunday, 11th October and following this morning’s declaration of runners, 22 contenders will line up in the ultra-competitive contest over two miles.
Last year’s winner Royal Illusion represents Willie Mullins and the County Carlow based trainer will also be represented by Kaatskill Nap.
Other notable runners include the Aidan O’Brien trained Shoshone Warrior, Grandmaster Flash, Isotope and King’s Vow all trained by Joseph O’Brien, Run for Mary trained by Charles Byrne and Father Ailbe trained by Gavin Cromwell. Trainer Tony Martin has 2 entries including Golden Speak, while Emmet Mullins will be represented by Sneaky Getaway and Cape Gentleman. The John Murphy trained Brazos who won the race in 2018 is also among the runners.
Up Helly Aa, Order of Australia, Fiscal Rules and Sonnyboyliston are among the 10 runners for the Group 3 Novi IT Services International Stakes.
A field of 11 will go to post in the Jebel Ali Racecourse and Stables Anglesey Stakes. Aidan O’Brien who has won the Group 3 contest for two year olds eleven times will be represented by Lipizzaner and Preamble, while other notable entries include Aunty Bridy, Lady Princess and New Treasure.
The Staffordstown Stud Stakes, which was won by subsequent multiple Group 1 winner Fancy Blue last year, has attracted 12 fillies. Trainer Donnacha O’Brien will attempt to win the Listed race for a second successive year with recent Navan winner April Showers. His father Aidan has 2 runners including High Heels, while his brother Joseph also has 2 runners to face the starter with Earth Strike and Sense of Style. Recent Tipperary Listed race winner Sweet Gardenia and Malaysian trained by Jessica Harrington are other notable contenders for the valuable contest over 1 mile.
Other races on the very competitive programme include the Chapmans Kildare Amateur Riders Derby with 12 runners including the Willie Mullins trained Mt Leinster, 12 in the extra.ie Apprentice Handicap, 16 in the Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital Handicap and 15 in the opening Maiden for two year olds.
