21 horses remain in the Tattersalls Gold Cup including last year’s winner Magical following this morning’s entry stage.  The Group 1 contest takes place at The Curragh this Sunday 26th July.

Other notable contenders include Group 1 winners Search For A Song, Anthony Van Dyck, Latrobe, Japan, Sovereign and Magic Wand.

The Hughie Morrison trained Telecaster is the sole British trained entry to remain in the race. The 4 year old recently won a Group 3 contest at ParisLongchamps, having won the valuable Dante Stakes last year.

Jessica Harrington is likely to have 2 runners with Leo De Fury and Ancient Spirit among the entries, while the Kevin Prendergast trained Madhmoon is set to make his seasonable debut.

This year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby runner up Tiger Moth, Crossfirehurricane who landed the Coolmore Group 3 Ten Sovereigns Gallinule Stakes and  Vatican City and Armory who finished second and fourth in the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas behind Siskin are among the 3 year olds entered.

The competitive 8 race programme also features the Mongey Communications Handicap with 19 entries including Bashiyr, Freescape, Halimi, and Bucky Larson and valuable Maddenstown Handicap with 18 entries including Big Gossey, Flaming Princess, Southern Hills and Zarzyni.
