20 runners to line up for Bord Na Mona Recycling Apprentice Derby
The first running of the Apprentice Derby to be sponsored by Bord Na Mona Recycling has attracted a very competitive field of 20. The race will be one of the highlights on the opening day of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival this Friday. Many of Ireland’s leading apprentice jockeys feature among the runners including Andy Slattery (Blue Shadow), Danny Sheehy (Tudor City), Sam Ewing (Shamad), Siobhan Rutlledge (Maricruz), Joey Sheridan (Sea Ducor), Scott McCullagh (Aurora Princess) and Dylan Browne McMonagle
( Powerful Kieran).
The seven race programme also includes 15 runners going to post in the TRI Equestrian Handicap, 27 runners in the Brady Family supporting Barretstown Handicap, in addition to 24 runners in the Holden Plant Rental Handicap.

Following 5mm of rain overnight, the ground is Good to Firm, good in places. Selective watering from 16f to 12f on Round course and between 8f and 6f in chute of Round Mile. Light drizzle at present to clear in afternoon and unsettled thereafter. Monitoring situation regarding further watering. Stalls in centres for sprints and racing on stand sides
