15 of Ireland’s top fillies will line up on Saturday at the Curragh for the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas. The likely favourite Albigna will look to give trainer Jessica Harrington her second victory in the race having won with Alpha Centauri in 2018, while she will also run Valeria Messalina.
Donnacha O’Brien will have a great chance to land his first Classic as a trainer with the unbeaten Fancy Blue, while his brother Joseph will be represented by both New York Girl and Brook on Fifth. Aidan O’Brien, who has won the race eight times, will saddle Peaceful and So Wonderful for the Group 1 Classic.
Ger Lyons will have a strong team of three fillies with Soul Search, Even So and Roca Roma, while trainer Andy Oliver will look for his first Classic success with Apricot Moon. Michael Halford will run Ridenza and Dermot Weld will look for his fifth win in the race with Katiba.
The Group 1 globe trotting mare Magic Wand heads the runners for the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes, while Speak In Colours and Lancaster House are among the seven runners in the Group 3 Coolmore Calyx Gladness Stakes.
11 colts will face the starter in the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas tomorrow headed by the current ante post favourite Siskin
