The Curragh stages the first Irish Classic races of the season this Friday and Saturday.
11 of Ireland’s top colts will face the starter in Friday’s Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas. Current ante post favourite Siskin will hope to give trainer Ger Lyons his first Classic success and will face stiff competition from a large Aidan O’Brien trained team including Armory, Vatican City, Lope Y Fernandez and Monarch of Egypt. Sinawann trained by Michael Halford, the Jim Bolger trained Fiscal Rules, Free Solo trained by Jessica Harrington and Rebel Tale, a first runner in the race for trainer Andrew Slattery are other contenders in the Group 1 Classic.
Search For A Song, winner of last years Comer Group International Irish St Leger and 2018 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby winner Latrobe feature among the 9 runners in the Coolmore Magna Grecia Mooresbridge Stakes, while Crossfirehurricane, Mythical, Sherpa and Chiricahua are among the 8 runners in the Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Gallinule Stakes. The winner of the Group 3 content will receive a free entry into the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby
18 runners will line up in the Paddy Power Irish Lincolnshire including ante post favourite Patrick Sarsfield
