OWNERS

The Curragh are delighted to welcome back owners for The Autumn Festival at The Curragh.

  • At present, only two people per owner can attend the race meeting due to Covid 19 restrictions
  • Each person attending must have their AIR card, their Online Health Screening Barcode & a Photo ID
  • If this is your first meeting back since restrictions were eased, you must complete your Online Health Screening registration by 6pm 48h before the event.
  • If you have already been back racing, you must confirm your details by 6pm the day before the event.
  • Both of the above can be carried out through the "IHRB - Racecourse Access" app or through www.ihrb.ie/screening (if using website please use Google Chrome browser)
  • Each person should receive a confirmation text message to say your registration is being processed
  • Owners from counties which are in Level 3 or above of Ireland's Plan For Living With Covid 19 are not permitted to attend.
  • Full details of the Health Screening process are available HERE. If you have any issues, please call 045 445656 as soon as possible for any assistance.
  • Please note, unfortunately it is not possible to accept any late submissions. This is without exception.
  • Where To Park - Car Park A located in front of the Main Entrance at The Curragh
  • When Can Owners Arrive - The screening area in The Curragh recpetion opens 3 hours before the time of the first race and closes 45 minutes before the last race.
  • Where Can Owners Go With In The Curragh - Once you have successfully been accredited, you will be given the following (per person); a wristband which gains entry to the racecourse, a lunch voucher for you to collect your complimentary refreshments in Orby's. Government protocols do not permit us to provide access to the interior of the grandstand, except for use of the toilets located on level 2, which must be accessed from the front of the grandstand. You are very welcome to use the seating on the grandstand but please be aware of social distancing. A large screen is located close to the winning post for viewing.
Renaissance Stakes (Group3)

This race was formerly known as the MacDonagh Boland Stakes and it was upgraded to Group 3 level in 1998 before having its distance reduced from seven to six furlongs in 2001. Since 2016 it has occupied a late September date.

Smurfit Beresford Stakes (Group2)

The Beresford is the final Group 2 for two-year-olds in Ireland each season. It has regained and held Group 2 status since 2003 and it has produced a host of top class performers over the last 20 years. Since 2000 it was has been won by nine subsequent Group 1 winners which include the English classic winners Saxon Warrior and Sea The Stars, the Irish Derby winners Alamshar and Capri and the outstanding middle distance runner Azamour.

Weld Park Stakes (Group3)

The last pattern race for two-year-old fillies in the Irish calendar, this race commemorates Dermot Weld’s parents Charlie and Marguerite and it has been run at the Curragh since 1991. The race has produced a number of subsequently top class fillies and both Imagine and Qualify went on to win the following year’s Epsom Oaks after victory in this race. The likes of Ridgewood Pearl, Alborada and Trusted Partner are other previous winners who have gone on to Group 1 success as three-year-olds. 2018 winner Hermosa went on to land the English and Irish 1000 Guineas.

Loughbrown Stakes (Group 3)

The current incarnation of the Loughbrown took place in 2013 and in 2017 it was upgraded to Group 3 level. Previously the Loughbrown was run as a three-year-old seven furlong Listed race early in the season but that race transferred to Dundalk and is now known as the Patton Stakes.
