Weekend Curragh Review

Fantastic weekend for Curragh trainers with winners at Gowran, Limerick, Naas and Down Royal.

Patrick Prendergast and Christy Roche picked up wins at Limerick on Sunday with Hailstone and Bay Hill and four of the seven races on the card at Gowran on Sunday were won by Curragh trainers. Willie McCreery with Bumbasina in the 2.05, Elusive Beauty trained by Ken Condon picked up the 2.50, John Oxx had Naughty or Nice in the 3.05 and John Feane won the last race with Not a Bad Ol Day.

On to Naas on Monday which saw another winner for Willie McCreery with Virtudes in the 2.10 and a win for Sandra Hughes with Art of Payroll winning the 3.35 Beginners Chase in Down Royal.

Naas also hosted three trial races for the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival on 27th & 28th May at the Curragh. Minding claimed the feature Group 2 Camelot Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes and she holds an entry in the Tattersalls Gold Cup on Sunday 28th May as does runner up Moonlight Magic. The Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas entry Rehana picked up the Group 3 Canford Cliffs Irish EBF Athasi Stakes for trainer Michael Halford.
