11 line up for the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes

The Dermot Weld-trained Zhukova will bid to win back to back Group 1 races as she heads the 11 strong field for the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

Sunday’s feature race will see the Man O’ War Stakes winner take on a strong field including a strong British-trained representation with John Gosden sending over Journey, Sir Michael Stoute has declared Smart Call and Roger Varian will be represented by Nezwaah.

Joseph O’Bien’s Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Intricately is also declared for the Pretty Polly Stakes to take on the Aidan O’Brien duo of Rain Goodess and Pocketfullofdreams, while Andy Slattery seeks the biggest win of his training career with Creggs Pipes also set to take her chance.

The Group 2 Comer Group International Curragh Cup will see Irish St Leger winner Wicklow Brave return to the scene of his finest achievement and he will face six rivals which include Forgotten Rules, Stellar Mass and Rekindling.

The €100,000 Tote Rockingham Handicap will be contested by a field of 20 runners including last years winner, Sors, and recent listed winner Hit The Bid for Darren Bunyan. Paul Midgley will saddle three, Naggers, Desert Law and Elysian Flyer, while Curragh specialist Rattling Jewel will look to extend his winning sequence for Nicole McKenna.

Epsom Derby winner Wings Of Eagles is the star attraction on Saturday where he’ll take on Cracksman and Waldgeist in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and there promises to be a strong supporting card at the Curragh on Saturday.

Aidan O’Brien has declared Murillo for the Group 2 GAIN Railway Stakes on Saturday where he’ll take on the supplemented Verbal Dexterity who was an emphatic Curragh maiden winner earlier this month.

In what promises to be one of the best juvenile races of the year so far, the Gordon Elliott-trained Beckford has also been declared and Richard Hannon will bid to win the Railway Stakes for a second time in four years as he will run De Bruyne Horse with Colm O’Donoghue booked to ride Charlie Appleby’s Godolphin runner, Folk Tale.

Saturday will also see one of the most popular flat horses in training, Gordon Lord Byron, return to the Curragh to contest the Dubai Duty Free Jumeirah Creekside Dash Stakes.
