Irish Champions Weekend Continues to Attract Strong UK Entries
A total of 186 entries, including over 100 from the UK have been received for the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes to be run on the second day of Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh on Sunday, September 13th.
The total prize fund for the event has recently been increased by €50,000 and the value of the race is now twice what it was in 2013. Overall, UK trainers have an enviable record in the six furlongs and 63 yards contest and are responsible for 104 entries this time around, up from 79 last year. Irish trainers, who have won four of the last five renewals, have put 82 horses in the race this time around.
