Strong team for Weld and Smullen on Finale of Curragh Season with free admission for all

October 14, 2013

Weld and Smullen could be in for terrific Tuesday at the Curragh”

• The decision to pencil in an additional Flat meeting at the Curragh on Tuesday looks set to benefit Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen who team up six times on the eight-race card.

• They are represented in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Filles Maiden (1.45pm) with the exciting Afternoon Sunlight who found only My Titania too good when the pair clashed at Leopardstown on Irish Champion Stakes day. This looks a gilt-edged opportunity for the Moyglare Stud-owned filly to make it third time lucky.

• The Buy Online at Curragh.ie Handicap (4.15pm) sees Smullen accompany the Weld-trained Alkali who was third in a Tipperary maiden last time and should be in the shake-up on that evidence.

• The action at the Curragh gets going at 1.45pm and there are eight races to be enjoyed.
