Sprint star Harry Angel entered for Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes

Harry Angel, Europe’s Champion Sprinting star, is among the 28 entries for the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes which takes place at the Curragh on Saturday 26th May as part of the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival.   First entries for the prestigious Group 2 race were published today for the first time.

The Clive Cox trained performer leads a strong British trained entry for the 120,000 euro contest over 6 furlongs, which also includes Tasleet, multiple Group One winner The Tin Man, Brando, Magical Memory and Perfect Pleasure.

Irish trained contenders include former Australian sprint star Merchant Navy, who recently joined Aidan O’Brien, the former French trained Fas now with Edward Lynam, Medicine Jack and Washington DC. Last year’s winner Gordon Lord Byron is also entered, together with the 2016 winner Mobsta

Rhododendron heads the entries for the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes, which features on the same programme. Others include Hydrangea, Goldrush and Making Light, while the strong British trained entries include Crystal River, Opal Tiara and Tisbutadream

The Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival takes place on the 26th and 27th May with the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas on Saturday, while Sunday’s top class programme features the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas and Tattersalls Gold Cup.
