Snow Fairy Stakes attracts massive entry for the Curragh

August 22, 2017

Darley Irish Oaks runner-up Rain Goddess heads the field for the Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes at the Curragh this Sunday.

A massive potential field of 28 fillies stood their ground for the 1m1f contest with Aidan O’Brien responsible for nine of the acceptors and the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Intimation is an notable inclusion as is Henry Candy’s highly rated Chain Of Daisies.

The Curragh will stage three Group 3 races on Sunday’s eight race card with a strong British representation throughout the entries. Mark Johnston has entered both Izzy Bizu and Lake Volta for the Plusvital Round Tower Stakes in which Aidan O’Brien has U S Navy Flag and the two time course and distance winner Fleet Review.

The €100,000 Tote Irish Cambridgeshire Handicap is headed by the William Haggas-trained top weight, Victory Bond, and another significant British entry in the race is Brian Ellison’s Galway Festival winner, Dream Walker.

Recent Tipperary winner Ballet Shoes will step up from listed company to Group 3 level for the Flame Of Tara Irish EBF Stakes.

The inaugural running of the Tipperary Crystal Rose Ladies Invitational Race is expected to feature some of the leading lady riders in Europe.
