Qatar Airways has been added to The Curragh’s portfolio of partners, ahead of inaugural Dublin-Doha flight on June 12

The Curragh, featuring some of the world’s most prestigious races will stage 18 race days from May to September

Former champion jockey Johnny Murtagh launched the sponsorship with horse Windsor Beach

The partnership has been made possible by the generosity of Qatarai businessman Mubarak Al Naemi, owner of KILFRUSH Stud in COUNTY Limerick 

Qatar Airways, the world’s fastest growing airline, today announced its partnership with The Curragh ahead of the inaugural Dublin-Doha flight on June 12.

The partnership further celebrates Qatar Airways’ entry into the Irish market and strengthens the Irish and Qatari business relationships.

Former champion jockey Johnny Murtagh, who rode to success in Doha, Qatar and is now a leading trainer based at The Curragh helped to launch the sponsorship announcement with his horse Windsor Beach.

The partnership has been made possible by the generosity of Qatarai businessman Mubarak Al Naemi, owner of KILFRUSH  Stud in Limerick.

Qatar Airways celebrates the Irish and Qatari affinity with horses, and brings together the cultural heritage of the two nations.

The sponsorship includes the prestigious Group 2 Qatar Airways Minstrel Stakes on Sunday 16th July and the historic Qatar Airways Royal Whip Stakes (Group 3) taking place on Sunday 20th August as part of a Qatar themed race day which also features the inaugural running of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Curragh Stakes.

Qatar Airways was recently announced official airline partner of the 2017 Dublin Horse Show, further establishing strong relations with the Irish equestrian industry and business networks.

The daily Dublin-Doha route is Ireland’s first ever direct air link to Qatar and Qatar Airways’ first ever service to Ireland. The route will be serviced by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Flights are available for booking at
