Jim Bolger has confirmed he will have a strong Irish Champions Weekend team
The Coolcullen trainer has five remaining in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday, September 14th. “Lucida is our number one filly for that race. She is in terrific form and raring to go”, he said of Godolphin’s Debutante Stakes runner-up.
Hall Of Fame and Parish Boy are both under consideration for the Group 1 Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes, also at the Curragh. “They are our two possibles in that race but we will wait and see what way the ground is before making a final decision,” commented Bolger.
Trading Leather will have his first run in Ireland this year in the €1 million QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday, September 13th.
Third to The Fugue in the corresponding race last year, Jim Bolger’s four-year-old has kept the best of company in three runs in Britain this season and appears to be the leading Irish-trained challenger to the mighty Australia.
Speaking today, Jim Bolger said: “Trading Leather is in good form and will take his chance in the race. Parish Hall is also in the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes but he will run in one of the other big races over the weekend, possibly in the Group Two Clipper Boomerang Mile on the same afternoon.
