Jamesie wins Renaissance Stakes

The David Marnane trained Jamesie got a deserved big race win to his name as he just got the better of Gordon Lord Byron in the feature Group Three Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon.
The Damien Lavelle owned six-year-old had been performing consistently this season without getting his head in front and he finished just parts of a length second to Scream Blue Murder in a Group Three over the course and distance on his last start.
Sent off at 8/1 (from 7’s) this afternoon the son of Kodiac tracked the leaders on the outer in the early stages and he was fourth after halfway.
He was ridden from two furlongs out and soon disputed just prevailing on the line by a nose.
The Tom Hogan trained Gordon Lord Byron (7/2) kept on well under Joseph O’Brien but he couldn’t get past the winner and had to settle for second.
Hamza was sent off the 3/1 favourite and he finished a further length back in third under Fran Berry for Kevin Ryan.
