Grainne Keena from Westmeath crowned “Rose of the Curragh”

The Newly Crowned 2017 Rose of Tralee Returns to a Kildare Homecoming at the Tipperary Crystal Rose Race Day at the Curragh Racecourse.

The Fashion Stakes were high at the Tipperary Crystal Rose Race Day, with the Search for the Rose of the Curragh Competition Best Dressed Competition. Notably, the newly crowned 2017 Rose of Tralee, Jennifer Byrne was the guest of honour at the event and acted as lead judge for the “Search for the Rose of The Curragh” Best Dressed Competition.  This was Jennifer`s first appearance as Brand Ambassador for Rose of Tralee Festival Lead Sponsor – Tipperary Crystal. Tipperary Crystal is also the “Official Trophy Partner” for the Curragh Racecourse.

Equally it marked the return of the Rose of Tralee Festival to Kildare – the location from where the festival tour began on August 12th, when all 64 Rose finalists were based in Kildare for two days.

Jennifer was joined on the judging panel, by Karen Scanlan, Creative Director with Tipperary Crystal and a series of 2017 Rose Finalists.

Commenting on the judges criteria Jennifer explained ” The Winner of the Rose of the Curragh needs to display authenticity, an individual sense of style but also a very clever use of the Rose motif”.

With so much incredible fashion present, the judges decision was difficult but unanimously it was  Grainne Keena from Westmeath who was selected as the “Rose of the Curragh” Grainne`s black, red and white ensemble was completed inspired by the Rose of Tralee motif even incorporating her GrandMother`s Gold Rose Brooch as a key accessory.

As the overall winner, Grainne will receive a complete Bonanza of Tipperary Crystal Jewellery, Homewares and Giftwares as her prize.

The Tipperary Crystal Rose Race Day at the Curragh is fast becoming a highlight on the every fashionista`s style Calendar and is destined to be a key feature in the future.
