The Curragh Unveils the 2017 Racing Season

The Curragh today unveils details of its 2017 Racing Season at a reception at the Kilashee Hotel, Co. Kildare. The first of 18 days of racing kicks off on Saturday 13th May with highlights during the season including the four Irish Classic weekends featuring the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival on 27th and 28th May, Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival taking place from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July 2017, Darley Irish Oaks on 15th July and day two of Longines Irish Champions Weekend on 10th September.
2017 is an exciting year for The Curragh as the redevelopment project progresses. Impressive high quality facilities are in place to ensure that racegoers enjoy a first class experience to match the world class racing synonymous with The Curragh. The facilities feature a Grand Hall with Tote, Paddy Power Betting Shop, Sports Lounge and food and beverage area and Owners & Trainers facility while a striking Hospitality Marquee over two levels will offer magnificent views of the stunning racecourse. O’Brien’s Champagne and Wine Bar with an Artisan Food Village featuring some of Kildare’s leading food producers will also be on hand with the finest food and drink.
Always one of the most popular events of the racing season the Dubai Duty Free Festival Weekend returns on the 30th June for three days of top class racing, live music, delicious food, exclusive style and family fun. With daily capacity limited to 6,000 people this year, race-goers are advised to book tickets now to ensure their place at the event. Sponsored by Dubai Duty Free since 2008, the festival weekend is renowned for its exceptional racing, and entertainment. The country’s top horses and jockeys will compete across the three days with the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby attracting the finest of the international horse racing world; all competing to win the jewel in the crown of Irish racing and one of the ultimate accolades in Irish sport.
A new Season Ticket and Premier Membership has been launched this year which offers guaranteed admission to all race days, and a variety of other benefits.
