John Osborne, Chairman County Kildare Fáilte:

“We, at County Kildare Fáilte, are delighted to launch the Inaugural Foodscape Kildare Festival at the most prestigious racing event in the Irish Calendar – Longines Champions Weekend, at the Curragh Racecourse on September 13th. Foodscape Kildare represents an initiative by County Kildare Failte to promote the incredible food tourism potential intrinsic to this county. The core objective of food tourism is to create collaborations and synergies between all those entities that play vital roles in bringing local produce from farm to fork. Accordingly, Kildare is well positioned to maximise on this trend due to our abundance of local food producers, artisans and craftspeople who operate, grow or produce their product in this county.”

Kildare Fáilte has worked closely with the Curragh Racecourse to plan the Foodscape Kildare Festival, aligning it with Longines Irish Champions Weekend, which last year attracted over 10,000 people to the Kildare track.

Evan Arkwright, Commercial Manager of the Curragh Racecourse:

“Foodscape Kildare will be a fantastic addition to this year’s Longines Irish Champions Weekend and will greatly enhance the overall racegoer experience at what promises to be a wonderful day out for all the family to enjoy. We are delighted to have the opportunity to help showcase the exciting culinary talent that is based in County Kildare again, following the success of our Irish Derby Food Paddock in June.”

The complete FoodScape Kildare experience will be hosted close to the parade ring in the garden at the rear of the Champagne Bar.
