August 28, 2015
The Curragh Racecourse is partnering with Childhood Cancer Foundation for a second year during Longines Irish Champions Weekend on 13 September. This partnership includes a childhood cancer awareness stand at the racecourse and the second annual Light It Up Gold Lunch.
Mary-Claire Rennick of Childhood Cancer Foundation tells us: ‘September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and we are delighted the
Curragh Racecourse is partnering with Childhood Cancer Foundation to help us to raise awareness and funds. Last years event was very successful and raised significant funds for the charity’s projects. There will again be a horse racing under the Lightitupgold name and Childhood Cancer Foundation is very grateful to Mr Jim Bolger for his generous support for the second year.’
In addition to world class horse racing, the race day will feature a variety of free entertainment for children in the Moyglare Stud Kids Zone including a horse racing simulator, face painting and the opportunity to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse as well as bouncy castles and other exciting activities. Emerald Garrison, Ireland’s Premier Star Wars Costuming Club, will also be there in full force to support Childhood Cancer Foundation. Jennifer Wyrnne award winning millner and fashion blogger has generously donated a gold themed head piece for the occasion.
